Known-supplier of in-flight supplies
According to European Regulation VO (EU) 2015/1998, a 'Known supplier of in-flight supplies' is a supplier whose procedures comply with common security rules and standards, allowing the delivery of in-flight supplies to an air carrier or a 'Regulated Supplier of In-Flight Supplies,' but not directly to an aircraft. The 'Known Supplier of In-Flight Supplies' is not approved by the Federal Aviation Authority (Luftfahrtbundesamt); instead, they are designated by the 'Regulated Supplier of In-Flight Supplies.'
Why become a Known Supplier of in-flight supplies?
Goods and products from an approved known supplier of in-flight supplies can be loaded directly onto passenger aircraft without additional screening, provided the secure supply chain is maintained. This ensures that your in-flight supplies are delivered quickly and cost-effectively. In-flight supplies from non-approved companies must undergo a full security inspection before being loaded onto an aircraft. These inspections are not only time-consuming but also often require significant technical effort. Additionally, there are extra costs associated with the inspection of goods. If you are delivering time-sensitive or delicate in-flight supplies, such as fresh food or sterile materials, it is crucial to obtain the status of a Known Supplier of In-Flight Supplies.
