The airport
At airports, there is a distinction between landside, airside, security restricted areas, sensitive parts of security restricted areas, and, where applicable, surrendered and demarcated areas. These zones must be clearly identifiable at every airport to ensure that the appropriate security measures can be implemented in each of them.
Landside and airside must be separated by a physical barrier that is clearly visible to the public and prevents unauthorized access.

Security restricted areas include at least the following:
a) Areas of the airport accessible to security-screened departing passengers.
b) Areas where security-screened checked baggage can pass through or be stored, unless it is already secured baggage.
c) Areas where aircraft are parked for boarding or loading operations.
Access to the airside:
Access to the airside is only permitted for individuals and vehicles with legitimate reasons.
Persons accessing the airside must carry an authorization.

Vehicles accessing the airside must have a valid vehicle pass.

Persons on the airside must present their authorization for inspection upon request.

The following training is required for airport employees:
-
Training for security managers (in accordance with Chapter 11.2.5 of Regulation (EU) 2015/1998)
-
Training of persons other than passengers requiring unescorted access to security restricted areas
(in accordance with Chapter 11.2.6 of Regulation (EU) 2015/1998)
